Hosting a New Year’s Eve party is not an easy task, but we’re here to lend you a hand…
If the only thing you’re sure right now is that thirty people will be bursting through your door on the 31st waiting for the party of the century, you might want to live up to that expectation. Luckily, today we are going to show you how you are going to host the New Years Eve party everyone will be talking about in 2018!
First things first, be ready to pour! New Year’s means it is cocktail party time! Get your home bar decor on point and make sure all your modern bar chairs are laid out. Most importantly, make sure you get your alcohol right and know that while a friend likes to indulge in the Pinot Noir, other guests might be on a cleanse…
Don’t freak out if you don’t have every last detail organized. If you are hosting family and friends, you should create a laid back and relaxed environment, where everyone will feel at home and comfortable.
While you’re at it, make sure everyone has a place to sit if they feel a little bit tired, or just rather spend the evening on the sofa, sipping wine and catching up with your friends.
If you want to take things up a notch, instead of a normal party, you can host a slumber party. Create a cozy and comfy room where your friend will find all the essentials, as well as a guest bathroom stocked with soft towels, and extra toiletries, which go a long way to make them feel at ease.
Bring out the good cutlery, because your guests deserve it and you will want to end the year and begin 2018 with nothing but the best.
Chances are you will be in the kitchen for a big amount of time, so you should encourage your guests to serve themselves drinks, set out platters of finger food, and open up your kitchen to receive everyone!
If you have an outdoor space and are craving to entertain your hosts in an open space, make sure to go with cozy accessories that will invite your guests to sit and stay a while, even when the temperatures get a little bit colder. Add soft blankets and plush pillows to stiff chairs, and a few candles to create a warmer ambiance.
Don’t schedule things for 8 or 9pm! Invite your guests to arrive by 3 or 4pm and let them enjoy daylight. This way, your guests will be able to enjoy your open plan kitchen or living room and help you set everything up.
