Milan Design Week continues to celebrate design all over the stunning city of Milan. Exhibitions, Salone Del Mobile, even tributes to the amazing Leonardo Da Vinci – you can find anything during this week of design. Today, we’re showing you the two hotspots in the city right now that you simply can’t miss: the Nilufar Depot showroom and also the fourth edition of Doppia Firma.
As part of Milan Design Week 2019, Nilufar Depot has launched itself into a galaxy of emergent designers. Throughout their initiative that you can see for yourself this week, you can find a series of furniture pieces consisting of membranes, films, coatings and epidermises, or made with forms developed through many processes of geological stratification and layering.
Probably one of the biggest highlights of this showcase are the three large inflatable bubbles that are suspended from the walkways. These bubbles are a homage to Oase n.7 which was first presented by Haus Rucker Co in 1972.
This Milanese gallery was created by Nina Yashar. It’s located near the Garibaldi train station and consists of a three-floor space, you can expect to be amazed by the huge atrium, inspired by La Scala opera house with the special touch of several vintages and colourful design elements. This is one of the main go-to spots referred in many articles about Milan Design Week and this year is definitely no exception!
Doppia Firma consists of a Milan Design Week exhibition that couples up contemporary designers with master artisans. It’s currently at its fourth edition managing to gather the works and talents of around nineteen international designers.
In this edition of Doppia Firma for Milan Design Week, they’ve managed to gather a group of creative couples whose talents will be exhibited throughout this event.
